Governor Evers is rapidly approaching his 1,000th pardon.
Friday saw the governor grant 159 additional pardons, increasing his lifetime total to 933.
The majority of those on the most recent pardon list had long-ago drug or other non-violent felony convictions.
The governor claims that everyone who committed a crime paid a price for it and has since improved their community.
The governor claims that they all merit a “new beginning.”
