The City of Sheboygan is mulling over a proposal for some new affordable housing units.
The Finance and Personnel Committee has received a proposal from Vue 14 LLC out of Fond du Lac to construct a 48-unit facility at the corner of 14th Street and Illinois Avenue, which would be about a $13 million project.
The proposal would have the City paying around $2.7 million, $1.2 million of that coming from ARPA funds, and the remaining $1.5 million coming from the Affordable Housing Fund.
The remaining cost, estimated to be around $11 million, would be footed by Vue 14.
If approved by both the Finance and Personnel Committee this coming Monday (April 10th) and by the full City Council on April 17th, the project would break ground in early September.
