A 42-year-old man is in police custody following a standoff with police Thursday in Kaukauna.
The incident actually began at around 3:00 a.m. as officers made contact with the yet unidentified man in the 1400 block of Crooks Avenue.
The officers learned the man had a warrant out for his arrest and began talking with the man.
He eventually became uncooperative and fled the scene in his vehicle.
The police took chase, which ended when the vehicle got “hung up” in the median of County Highway CE near Fieldcrest Drive.
The man was believed to be armed and dangerous and refused to follow orders.
The Outagamie County Emergency Response Team responded and assisted with negotiations with the suspect.
After several hours of negotiations, the suspect fled the vehicle, less lethal force was deployed, and the suspect was taken into custody.
His name has not been released.
