More political squabbling has begun the long road to a new state budget in Wisconsin.
When scheduling a bill signing during today’s open budget meeting, Governor Evers was accused by the leaders of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee of engaging in political gamesmanship and ignoring the budget process.
While Marklein is preoccupied with the budget, the governor chose to sign legislation that he helped write, according to JFC co-chair Senator Howard Marklein, which he called a “blatant political move” and “disgusting.”
With a public hearing today in Waukesha, Marklein and state representative Mark Born will launch the public portion of the budget procedure.
