
The $36 million dollar proposal for the nearby school was rejected by Altoona voters.
By just 83 votes, the question was only barely defeated.
The money was requested by Altoona Schools in order to turn the former National Business Institute building into a primary school.
Voters have chosen what they want for their schools, according to superintendent Dr. Heidi Eliopoulos.
There is no information on whether the district will attempt again with a referendum in the following election.
