It is Election Day in Manitowoc County, and two local city leaders are encouraging residents to cast their ballots.
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels tells us that aside from the State Supreme Court race and the state referendum questions, voters also have to decide some local races.
He noted “There are a few local elections for City Council, a couple of contested races,” including contested races for Manitowoc’s 1st, 3rd, and 7th Aldermanic districts and six candidates vying for at-large City Council seats in Two Rivers.
City Manager Greg Buckley says there are some very easy ways to learn more about the candidates for the Two Rivers City Council.
“There have been two candidate forums,” he explained. “[I] would encourage to visit the City Hall Facebook page or…the City of Two Rivers YouTube [channel]. Both the League of Women Voters and Two Rivers Business Association Candidate Forums can be viewed in their entirety.”
As for the School Board races, there are numerous candidates looking to join the Brillion, Chilton, Kiel, Manitowoc, Mishicot, Reedsville, Sheboygan, Two Rivers, and Valders School Districts.
