Milwaukee hosted a “proper welcome home” event Wednesday to honor Wisconsin Vietnam War veterans.
On March 29, 1973, the last American troops and prisoners of war returned from Vietnam.
Due to the war’s controversy, many Vietnam War Veterans were not received with open arms at that time.
There was a “welcome home” procession, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony and a panel discussion on “lived experience” by Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans.
