A family pet most likely set a fire that severely damaged a home in Delafield.
Fire investigators say that one of the family’s two dogs or cats turned on the gas stove at the house on Northview Road on Monday by pawing on a knob.
The fire then broke out on top of the stove.
Two individuals sustained minor injuries.
The family believes that their cat may be to blame.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, family pets or wildlife are responsible for 750 annual home fires.
