The governor of Wisconsin claims that the state secretary of state resigned because he was “sick of this stuff.”
Governor Evers elaborated on some of the circumstances surrounding Secretary of State Doug La Follette’s abrupt retirement last week.
Evers claims that when La Follette wrote a letter to his office stating that he was “sick of this stuff,” he informed him of La Follette’s intentions for the first time.
La Follette was not merely complaining about what the governor is saying.
When La Follette resigned last week and the governor appointed Sarah Godlewski as his replacement, Republicans protested.
These criticisms were dismissed by the governor as political.
