The son of the two people found dead over the weekend is being charged by Winnebago County prosecutors with their deaths.
Yesterday marked Erik Metzig’s first appearance in Oshkosh court. According to the sheriff’s office, he shot and killed his parents on Saturday in their Wolf River home.
In Erik Metzig’s room, a journal with plans to kill his parents and give the impression that they have vanished, according to investigators, was discovered.
According to the D.A., this is the reason he requested and received a $1 million bond in the case.
Next week, Metzig is expected back in court.
