The Brillion Lions defeated Lakeside Lutheran 57 to 55 in a WIAA Division Three State Semifinal Thursday afternoon at The Kohl Center in Madison.
The Lions shot 52 percent from the floor and were led by their one-two punch of Jeremy Lorenz and Grady Geiger.
Lorenz played all 36 minutes and led all scorers with 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds while Geiger chipped with 13 points.
Lakeside Lutheran was led by senior Levi Birkholz who had 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds and four assists.
The Lions improve to 28 and 1 and will play the West Salem Panthers for The Division Three State Championship Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:15.
The Panthers defeated Milwaukee Academy of Science 93 to 65 in the first semifinal on Thursday.
The Lions and Panthers met in last year’s state semifinals, which West Salem won 71 to 61.
