In the race for the Supreme Court in Wisconsin, there will only be one debate.
Judge Janet Protasiewicz agreed to participate in the debate on March 21 hosted by the State Bar of Wisconsin and a Madison television station.
At least five other debates have turned her down.
The campaign for Protasiewicz claims to be aware of the State Bar’s history of debates.
The fact that Protasiewicz will not answer questions about her bench record or her promise to “put a thumb on the scale” for certain cases is described as “outrageous” by the campaign of conservative candidate Dan Kelly.
