No one knows for sure why a piece of the parking deck at the Bayshore Mall collapsed, but officials say the weather likely had something to do with it.
A huge chunk of the deck’s concrete floor, about 20 feet long and 50 feet wide, fell from the third floor about noon yesterday.
Firefighters say they don’t think anyone was hurt in the collapse, but they say cars that were parked on the deck may be stuck until the concrete can be moved away, and a new exit created.
That could take a while.
Glendale’s mayor says they dodged a bullet in that no one was hurt. Investigators will now look for a cause of the collapse.
