
The Matthias brothers and two of their teammates at Two Rivers High School will be packing their bags for Madison and the State Individual Wrestling Tournament this weekend.
Chase and his younger brother Max each won a Sectional championship Saturday at the WIAA D-2 meet at Wrightstown.
Max Matthias captured the top spot in the 182-pound weight class while Chase picked up the title at 195.
The Raiders Justin Klinkner also earned a championship at 160 and Connor Sanford advances by virtue of a 4th place finish at 285.
Luxemburg-Casco won the team title with Brillion 3rd, Two Rivers 4th, Denmark 5th and Kiel 6th.
The Lions qualified 4 wrestlers for action at the Kohl Center including sectional champions Logan Mueller and Bob Huntley, along with Trenton Nicklaus and Damon Schmidt.
The Kiel Raiders will send 3 athletes to state: Evan Desellier at 145, Connor Faust at 160, and Ben Kienbaum at 195.
In the WIAA D-3 Sectional at Bonduel, Coleman was the team champion with Kewaunee finishing 5th, Reedsville 7th, Valders 11th, and Mishicot 15th.
The Vikings have 2 state qualifiers in 113-pound champion Maddux Wendling and Garrett Ulness at 126.
Panthers moving on to Madison are Adler Strenn at 195, Casey Braun at 170, and Ayden Sebo at 145.
And, the Indians will have 2 qualifiers this weekend: Jacob Benfield in the 1-hundred-52 pound class and Logan Marshall at 220.
