The Roncalli High School Boys Basketball team received a challenge from visiting Chilton last night. But, the Jets were able to stem the tide on parents night…and defeated the young, improving Tigers 59-49 on Kersten Court. Junior guard Chombi Lambert, who scored a school-record 45-points Saturday night, led his team again in the EWC victory. Lambert scored a game-high 23 points including 13-of-14 from the free throw line as he inches ever so close to the 1,ooo point mark of his prep career. Roncalli was 22-of-28 from the charity stripe..while Chilton was just 9-of-21. With Mitchel Schneider still out with an ankle injury, Matt Levene chipped in 15-points & 7-rebounds….Ian Wagner added 10-points for the jets, now 15-and-4, 8-and-3 in conference. For the Tigers…(7-&-12, and 4-&-7) Camden Bowe, one of 3 sophomore starters, led the way with 12. After last night’s game, Coach Joe Garceau termedit a “playoff-type survive and advance” scenario.
