Most UW students say they’re free to say what they want in their classrooms and on campus.
However, the university’s new free speech survey also says most students are too afraid to say what they want.
The UW System yesterday released a 97 page report on free speech on campus.
More than half of students said they don’t feel comfortable sharing their opinions on controversial topics, even if they want to.
There’s also a desire to limit who can say what on campus.
About one-in-three students said the university should dis-invite speakers if some students find the message offensive.
