Thirty-nine of the area’s top bowlers competed Saturday in the Scratch Singles Classic held at Meadow Lanes North.
According to Steve Skarda of Meadow Sports Complex, there was a 4-game qualifier, with the top-12 bowlers moving on to match play.
In the semi-final matches, Aaron Steffen defeated Al Bonfigt 209 to 185 and Eric Belinske beat John Schermetzler 275 to 215.
Then in the final match of the day, Belinske topped Steffen 245 to 192 to win this year’s championship.
