Two football players that hit the gridiron in our area played in the NFL’s postseason, but only one is still alive in the chase for a Lombardi trophy.
Luke Goedeke, a Valders High School graduate, played guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were eliminated in the Wild Card Round.
In fact, Goedeke’s jersey will be retired at Valders High on February 17th.
Also representing our area in the NFL is Green Bay Southwest alumni Max Scharping. He also plays on the offensive line, but for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Sharping will be protecting Joe Burrow this weekend in the AFC championship game against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
