For the first time ever, the Kewaunee Police Department is being run by a female.
Chief Robin Mueller was sworn into the role Monday and is taking over for a retiring Chief Jim Kleiman.
Chief Mueller is the third Police Chief in Kewaunee over the past three years, as Chief Jim Salestine retired in 2020.
Chief Mueller’s swearing-in is the latest in a line of local and area Police Chiefs hanging up their boots.
The police departments in Appleton, Two Rivers, and Kiel are also under new management, with the Appleton Police Department also swearing in their first-ever female leader, Chief Polly Olson.
Ben Meinert assumed the role in Two Rivers following the retirement of Brian Kohlmeier, and Joe Jeanty took over for a retiring Dave Funkhouser in the Kiel Police Department.
