The City of Manitowoc is working on getting Epi-Pens placed in emergency kits in all city buildings.
Mayor Justin Nickels told us that this idea actually started with the League of Wisconsin Municipalities before it was discussed locally.
He said the local discussion began when the Public Safety Committee met and discussed it with Police Chief Nick Reimer and Fire Chief Todd Blaser on getting them placed in squad cars.
Nickels said that a big part of this idea would be training for city staff, “especially lay people at City Hall and how they can use them and where they can be stored.”
Nickels noted that no decisions have officially been made as of yet as they have only begun the conversation.
