Police in Milwaukee say a young man died on his way home from registering his new car at the DMV.
Family members say 18-year-old Damarius McCray bought his car Sunday.
Police say he registered it Tuesday, just before he was hit by an SUV on Milwaukee’s north side.
Originally, police said the SUV ran a red light and smashed into McCray, but yesterday investigators say it was McCray who ran the red light.
Police say McCray and the other driver were both speeding.
Four people ran from the SUV after the crash, though one returned later and was arrested.
