The Manitowoc County Historical Society is inviting the public out to their first Hungry for History program on February 16th, as they will be taking a look at the musical history of Roman “Romy” Gosz.
Lloyd Gosz, youngest of the Gosz clan, will be on hand to share family stories and the rich history of the Romy Gosz Orchestra.
Romy Gosz had taken over the Gosz Family Orchestra in 1930, and by the 1940s he was widely known as the “Polka King,” with several recording contracts and a national following.
The Romy Gosz Orchestra toured throughout the Midwest, but also played frequently at dances and other special events in Manitowoc County.
The doors will open at 8112 Village Drive in Whitelaw at 11:00, with the presentation kicking off at 11:30 a.m. A meal will be provided.
Advanced registration is required and can be done by calling 920-684-4445.
