Wisconsin’s governor says the state’s new veterans secretary is the state’s first openly gay veterans secretary.
Governor Evers yesterday appointed James Bond to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Bond is a former Marine, and had been at DVA since 2010.
He previously served as the deputy secretary of DVA.
Bond will face a vote in the State Senate to be formally approved for the spot.
