The Manitowoc United JV Hockey team showed a ton of spirit last Friday, but a comeback attempt fell just short.
The team was in Marinette where they ended the first period tied at 2, but a rough 2nd period saw them down 6-2 entering the final frame.
Captain Benson Dickrell got his team back on track with an early 3rd-period goal, his second of the night, and Sam Hinz added another.
But a stingy Thunder defense staved off any more goals, and the United squad fell 6-4.
Myles Dekok also scored a goal for United while Eli Romero, Walker Lindboom, Josee Busse, Ethan Christensen, Peter Cigler, Reed Neuser, and Dickrell all tallied assists.
United is back in action tomorrow night as they travel to Waupaca to battle the Comets.
The puck will drop at the Waupaca Expo Center at 5:00 p.m.
