The Manitowoc United JV hockey team fell to the Shawano Hawks Firday night in a back-and-forth battle at the Manitowoc County Ice Center.
Manitowoc started the scoring just four minutes into the opening period with Landon Nienow picking up the goal.
Benson Dickrell would tally the remaining three goals for Manitowoc, giving the home squad the lead with 16 minutes remaining.
Then, Shawano would go on a three-goal streak, and ended up winning 6-4.
Despite giving up six goals, Manitowoc goalie Daniel Karlin had a phenomenal night between the pipes, shutting down several solid opportunities for the Hawks and tallying 45 saves.
United will take the next week to recoup, as they prepare for a road contest against Marinette next Friday.
