
Three members of the state semifinalist Two Rivers High School Football team were selected to the Associated Press All-State team, announced Thursday afternoon.
Leading the Raiders contingent is inside linebacker Chase Matthias. The 5′ 11″ 200-pound junior was named a Second-team all stater at Inside Linebacker.
Two of his teammates on that 12 and 1 TR squad, junior Quarterback Justin Klinkner and senior Cornerback Orian Gauger, are on the Honorable Mention list.
In addition, Matthias was nominated for AP Player of the year, an honor that went to Mayville Runningback Blake Schraufnagel.
Gabe Egan of Cedar Grove-Belgium was chosen the first team all-state at Wide Receiver/Tight End, while another area player Owen Plate of Plymouth was named second-team all-state Kicker.
AP Coach of the Year is Andrew Selgrad of State Division-4 champion Columbus.
