The six-school hockey co-op known as Manitowoc United is ready for their home opener today.
The Junior Varsity team consisting of players from Manitowoc Lincoln, Two Rivers, Mishicot, Roncalli, Valders, and Reedsville will be taking on the WNS Storm, which is another multi-school co-op.
The Storm are a conglomeration of Whitefish Bay, Nicolet, and Shorewood High Schools.
Coach Mark Hinz’s Manitowoc United squad is 0-2 to start the season after falling to De Pere last Friday 5-0.
The puck drops this evening at 4:30 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Ice Center, located on the County Expo Grounds.
Also, Missy Christiansen, a parent of one of the players, wanted to give a huge shout-out to Deana Vandeurzen from Whiskey D’s in Two Rivers.
She donated the team dinner this week prior to their historic first home game.
