Two men were killed and a third was critically injured in a crane accident this morning outside the Manitowoc Crane plant in Shady Grove Pennsylvania. Reports are that two other men were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Pennsylvania state trooper and police spokesman Brent Miller didn’t provide many details other than the scene was “very chaotic” when officers arrived. Miller offered no explanation of how the accident occurred or where the men were at the time of the accident. Vice President of Marketing and Investor Relations Ion Warner said he was unable to discuss what type of crane was involved or what it was doing but the deaths appear to be accidental. Manitowoc said they are actively working with authorities in investigating the accident. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (osha) along with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office are also investigating. The names of the deceased will be released after next of kin are notified.
