The 2018 Manitowoc County Fair will be the showcase for a new dairy cattle barn. A press release states that the new barn will be the anchor of the county fair and will ensure the existence of the Manitowoc County Expo and the fair at its current location. The release says the new barn will include a lean-to-roof to cover the wash racks and two American Disability Act (ADA) accessible restrooms. More than $1 million has been approved by the County Board for the barn and other capital improvement projects at the expo grounds this year. Facility Manager Jennell Krizek says she’s working to secure a sponsor that will be given naming rights and is willing to fund additional amenities for the new barn. The old barn has been demolished to make room for the new facility. Construction is scheduled to begin next month and anticipated to be completed by August first.
