The University of Wisconsin – Green Bay’s Healthy Choices Task Force held its second annual ‘Take Back the Night’ program and march last night.
More than 300 students and staff met up at Phoenix Park on the Green Bay Campus where they marched, shared stories, and helped create a safer and more welcoming campus.
Chancellor Michael Alexander, Vice Chancellor for University Inclusivity & Student Affairs Corey King, and Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich all spoke on the topic, as did some survivors of sexual violence.
Take Back the Night Foundation’s global mission is to end all forms of sexual violence, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, trafficking, stalking, gender harassment, and relationship violence, and to support survivors in their healing journeys.
Their movement is the oldest worldwide movement to stand against sexual assault.
