The Brown County Taxpayers Association has filed a lawsuit against the President of the United States.
The suit filed yesterday in conjunction with the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty stems from President Joe Biden’s plan to forgive student loan debt.
The BCTA claims the plan violates the constitution because it was not approved by congress and that it violates the equal protection doctrine.
White House documents say the debt forgiveness is “more likely” to help “borrowers of color”.
Dan Lennington, a lawyer for the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, calls the move a “really dangerous precedent”, noting that the suit is not a political one.
