A report from the Washington-based Violence Policy Center reveals Wisconsin is ranked eighth in the U.S. for its rate of women killed by men.
More than half of the Wisconsin women were killed by an intimate partner and more than 80% were killed by someone they knew.
Spokesperson Kristen Rand says women are most often killed by men during arguments.
The report finds that 60 women were killed in Wisconsin in 2020 – most of them at the hand of someone they knew.
Rand says there really isn’t a lot of focus on domestic violence as a problem that needs to be solved.
