A simple traffic stop turned into a drug bust Monday evening in Manitowoc. A Manitowoc Police Officer was on a routine patrol when he noticed a vehicle missing its driver side mirror driving in the 1000 block of South 15th Street. When he pulled the vehicle over, the driver, 33 year old Anthony Moore, appeared nervous, and was driving a vehicle that was not registered to him. The officer contacted the owner of the vehicle to ensure she had allowed the driver and his 21 year old female passenger Kendra DeWitt, to use her vehicle. She confirmed she had, and allowed police to search the vehicle, as they suspected the occupants were hiding something due to their nervous actions. The search uncovered marijuana, methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia. Moore is being charged with misdemeanor bail jumping, and possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. DeWitt is facing charges of felony bail jumping, three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Moore is free on $2000 recognizance bond, while DeWitt remains in the County Jail on $1000 cash bond.
