This weekend marks the 31st iteration of Ethnic Fest in Downtown Two Rivers.
For those who are unaware of what exactly Ethnic Fest is, City Manager Greg Buckley explains that it is exactly what the name implies.
“It is a celebration of ethnic diversity with various dance troupes and musical groups taking the stage throughout the day,” he explained.
Buckley also said there will be “a variety of foods, both ethnic, and you can find burgers, brats, and the occasional smelt in the food area as well.”
There will also be various craft vendors scattered around the downtown area of the Cool City.
Buckley also said that this year will also feature some fireworks.
“We are going to try for one last time to hold our rescheduled 4th of July fireworks show,” he explained.
This will include an abbreviated program starting at 6:30 at Walsh Field, with the fireworks being lit at 7:30 p.m.
There is a chance of showers in the forecast for Saturday, but Ethnic Fest will take place rain or shine.
The fireworks show, if postponed again due to rain, will simply be removed from the lineup, and Buckley promises that next year’s 4th of July show will be even bigger to compensate.
The festival will begin at 9:30 a.m. with main stage entertainment beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The Farmers and Crafters Market will still be set up as usual during the event as well, however, they will be across the street from their normal location.
They will also have extended hours during the festivities.
