The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers needed a win, and they got one over the Peoria Chiefs last night.
The Rattlers had a 3-run 5th inning, pushing them to a 4-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals’ High A affiliate.
The big difference in the game came off the bat of Jackson Chourio, as the top-ranked Brewer’s prospect stepped to the plate with 2 on and 1 out.
He ended up blasting a pitch off of the right field foul pole to score three runs.
The other Rattler run came in the 3rd thanks to a solo shot by right fielder Arbert Cipion.
Tylor Floyd was named player of the game thanks to his 3 innings of relief pitching in which he only allowed 1 hit and struck out six batters while picking up the win.
James Meeker earned the save.
The teams are back at it today, with game 2 at Dozer Park in Peoria Illinois slated to begin at 6:35 p.m.
