It would be over-hyped to say this weekend’s Brewers series in St. Louis is critical for both teams, but it’s certainly important.
The Brewers send left-hander Eric Lauer to the mound against the Cardinals tonight (August 12th).
St. Louis has a half-game lead in the National League Central Division standings.
The two teams are certainly evenly matched.
They have split 12 meetings with Milwaukee scoring 44 runs and St. Louis putting up 48.
The Cardinals will also throw a lefty tonight – recent trade acquisition Jordan Montgomery.
