Drivers who frequent downtown Manitowoc will have to make some changes starting late Sunday evening.
8th and 10th Streets will officially become two-way roads starting Monday morning, however, crews will be out late Sunday evening taking down the cones, and making any final changes that need to happen.
This change-over has been in the works for the past several months, but there are still a few tweaks that will need to be made.
Mayor Justin Nickles told us that some of the traffic lights will remain flashing red for a while, “So we can make sure we monitor traffic flows, see where people are going to be going, so we can make sure the signalized intersections are appropriate.”
Also, the lights indicating whether the bridge is up or down have not arrived yet, so they will be installed at a later date.
Brix is actually holding a traffic-watching party starting at 11:00 Monday morning, and we will be down there asking citizens what they think of the change.
