Three major statewide races top today’s (August 9th) Wisconsin primary election ballots.
The Republican primary features former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and construction company executive Tim Michels, along with State Representative Tim Ramthun.
The winner meets incumbent Governor Tony Evers in November.
Former state senator Adam Jarchow, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Tony, and attorney Karen Mueller are running in the Republican primary to face incumbent Attorney General Josh Kaul.
Current Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes’ principal opponents have dropped out and endorsed him, meaning the Democrat will likely face incumbent U.S. Senator Ron Johnson for that office in the general election.
Also of note, more locally, 6th District Congressman Glenn Grothman is being challenged by Douglas Mullenix, and 9th District State Senator Devin LeMahie is facing off against Jeanette Deschene, and Ruth Villareal.
