
A 37-year-old Algoma man who died late Saturday afternoon when his pickup truck crashed into the back of a self-propelled haybine in the Kewaunee County Town of Red River has been identified.
According to Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Jason Veeser, the farm implement was traveling northbound on County Highway AB, just south of County S, when the victim, now identified as Jeremy J. Garrett, approached the haybine from the rear and collided with the vehicle.
Initial investigation shows the pickup truck was being driven at what was termed a significant speed and Garrett was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Other Agencies assisting at the scene included the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, Luxemburg Police, Fire and Rescue, Wisconsin DNR and Red River First Responders.
