The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ recent trip down to Davenport Iowa can be considered a success considering what came before it.
With their 4-1 win on Friday over the Quad Cities River Bandits, their 3-2 win Saturday and a 7-5 loss on Sunday, the Rattlers ended up winning the six-game series 4-2.
Prior to the series, the Rattlers had only won six of their previous 21 games and had fallen to 3rd place in the Midwest League’s West Division.
The Bandits are at the bottom of the division, so things are about to get much more difficult for the Appleton-based baseball team.
They will be taking on a surging South Bend Cubs squad this week.
Since the start of the second half of the season, the Cubs have gone 23 and 13, and have pushed into the second place spot in the West.
The series between the Rattlers and the Cubs will be held at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton starting tomorrow (August 9th).
