The man who is accused of killing his children in Kaukauna is maintaining his innocence.
Matthew Beyer of Manitowoc is facing two counts of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide in the deaths of 5-year-old William and 3-year-old Danielle Beyer on February 17th, 2020, as well as charges related to an escape attempt later that year.
Beyer’s trial is scheduled to begin in a couple of months, but his attorney, Amanda Skorr, is asking for a delay as her team continues to evaluate the evidence.
Skorr also said she plans on presenting evidence that her client is innocent and that another man is responsible for the killings.
The unnamed individual allegedly professed his love for Danielle and William’s mother, but according to Skorr “she did not reciprocate”.
Beyer remains in jail on a $2.5 million cash bond.
