A report from the Dane County Election Security Task Force points to rising concerns over the safety of election officials.
The county’s election infrastructure is being labeled “inadequate.”
County Clerk Scott McDonnell says, “We’re operating under outdated facilities that need to be upgraded as soon as possible.”
There are questions about the security of the offices where election equipment is housed.
McDonnell says some of the issues will be relatively easy to resolve – like putting plexiglass barriers up for clerks who are often the first contact with the public.
