If you want to take on an election official in Dane County, it could be costly.
The county Board of Supervisors formed an election security committee earlier this year to review the measures already in place to protect those workers.
The report will come out next month.
Board members were considering a new ordinance at last night’s meeting that would make it an offense to act in disorderly conduct toward an election official.
The fine would be $500.
County officials point to misinformation from elected officials and leaders that have created doubt in the election process.
That has led to some confrontations.
