With warmer weather hitting the area, many people are getting out and taking their furry friends with them.
The Manitowoc Police Department is reminding residents that canines must be on a leash at all times when in public.
In a statement, the MPD explained, “Beaches and designated dog parks are the only areas that animals are permitted to be off-leash. If off-leash, dogs must remain under the control of their owners or designee at all times.”
That being said, there are a few areas where dogs are not permitted.
These include Evergreen Cemetery, Citizen Park, Lincoln Park within the boundaries of the zoo, and Miracles Park.
Dogs are also not allowed at special events where it is posted that they are not allowed.
