
An estimated $80,000 worth of drugs were seized in Fond du Lac all because a driver made an unsafe lane change.
A Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull a vehicle over on Highway 41 at around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday (July 19th) but the driver fled into Fond du Lac County.
Those deputies picked up the pursuit, and in the chase saw a white bag get thrown out of the vehicle’s window.
After the chase went on for another 14 miles, the suspect vehicle ran into a ditch, and the driver fled on foot.
K9 Iro was called into action, and the 28-year-old Racine man was found hiding in some tall grass near the crash site.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the discarded bag contained an estimated 2,500 counterfeit oxycodone pills and three bags of cocaine weighing about three ounces.
The man is now facing six charges, including Fleeing or Eluding Police, several possession with intent to deliver charges, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit.
