Six citizens were recently honored by the Green Bay Fire Department, but the one that stands out the most is Nick Janco.
He and a friend were rollerblading on the Fox River Trail last April when they saw a 15-year-old girl fall into a culvert on a bike.
The girl was stuck in the mud and had an injured arm.
Without hesitating, Janco went to the girl’s side and began rendering first aid.
He was also able to keep her calm while the teen’s sister and aunt called 911.
In honor of his quick thinking and selfless actions, Janco received the Citizen Award.
