A 33-year-old suspect who was wanted in Illinois by multiple jurisdictions has been arrested while kicking a sheriff’s deputy in Broadhead.
Matthew Williams was taken into custody Monday.
When authorities first contacted him he gave them a false name.
After he kicked the Green County deputy in the shoulder while resisting, pepper spray was used to bring him under control.
Williams is being held in the county jail on charges of obstructing, resisting, and disorderly conduct.
He will eventually be returned to Illinois.
