A De Pere man has been sentenced in a sexual assault case that stems back 20 years.
53-year-old Gregory Sawyer will spend eight years in prison after being convicted of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.
The victim, who was Sawyer’s girlfriend’s son, reported to police that Sawyer had sexually assaulted him in 1997 when he was a teenager.
His mother was also reportedly home during one of the assaults, although no charges have been filed against her.
Sawyer reportedly admitted to some of the assaults the victim reported, but offered different versions of events for others.
He will be eligible for parole in three years.
