Lake Michigan, along with the remaining 4 Great Lakes are all reaching above average depths, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Lake Michigan currently sits at 579.81 feet above sea level, which is well above the average of 578.38 feet. The lakes annually experience seasons of rise and fall, with right now being the time where the biggest decline happens. Once spring hits, and the levels will again begin to rise. The Corps of Engineers forecast through June shows that the levels will continue to remain above average.
