
A Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources warden shot a UTV driver during a confrontation in Forest County.
The incident happened Friday night in the town of Lincoln.
The warden had just conducted a traffic stop of a UTV at about 9:30 p.m. when a second UTV rider pulled up and assaulted the warden.
During the altercation, the warden shot the person assaulting him.
No names have been released.
Both the UTV rider and the warden were taken to a nearby hospital to treat their injuries.
They are expected to recover.
The state Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is in charge of the case with assistance from local officials.
